Biol 325 Animal Ecology (4)
Provides students of animal ecology with the knowledge, skills, appreciation,
and opportunity to investigate introductory concepts of animal ecology from
a behavioral approach.
Biol 310 Cell Biology (4)
Cell Biology is the study of the structure and function of cells and of
their subcellular organelles. Structural detail will be described down
to the molecular level and the assembly of macromolecular components of
cells will be described. Wherever possible, the cellular functions will
be described in terms of molecular mechanisms.
Biol 309 Plant Taxonomy (4)
To provide future biologists and biology teachers with the knowledge and
skills necessary to identify common North American, especially midwestern,
plants and plant families in the field and from herbarium specimens, and
to foster the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to appreciate,
manage, and preserve plants in the natural environments.
Biol 205 Ecology (4)
Ecology is the important and fascinating study of the distribution and abundance
of living creatures, and of their exchange of matter and energy with the
environment around them. It is a field of expanding research, wide application,
and growing career opportunity. Knowledge and skills mastered in the study
of ecology provide a lifetime of reward in the study, understanding, enjoyment,
and care of God's creation.
Biol 202 Genetics (4)
Genetics is an introductory course studying the principles of heredity and
their practical applications. It is a course studied by most biology majors
because of its significance in every aspect of biology. It is a valuable
course for areas outside of biology as well such as psychology, counseling,
law, agriculture.
Biol 212 Invertebrate Zoology (4)
Invertebrate Zoology is a taxonomic and anatomical study of the approximately
1.5 million species of animals that are lacking a vertebral column.
Biol 112 Zoology (4)
Zoology is an introductory study of the structure, function, and diversity
of animal life. A brief look at cell and tissue structure and function
is followed by a study of representatives of each of the major animal phyla.
This is followed by a study of the systems found in the animal body with
emphasis of that system in the human body.
Biol 111 Botany (4)
Provides students of botany with the knowledge, skills, appreciation and
opportunity to investigate introductory concepts of plant morphology, physiology,
taxonomy, and ecology.
