Bi 100G Environmental Science (4)

An integrated study emphasizing human conditions and the environment. Laboratory work plus projects and field trips.

Bi 107G Biology of Animals (4)

A survey of the major animal groups with coverage of taxonomic, ecological, anatomical, and physiological topics. Two laboratory hours per week.

Bi 108G Biology of Plants (4)

A survey of the major plant groups.

Bi 328-G Genetics (4)

Classical and modern genetics with emphasis on the biochemistry of chromosomes, organismic heredity, and genetic engineering. Three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisite: BI327 or consent of instructor.

Bi 400 Ecology (4)

An experimental study of the natural environment, particularly the interrelationships between organisms and their surroundings. Field work and special problems. Prerequisite: BI107-G

Bi 420 Biology Project (1)

The biology project is designed for junior or senior majors in biology. A student may choose one of three routes: (1) Experience route in which the student gains some practical on-the-job training; (2) Teaching route in which the student gains experience assisting a professor teaching a course; and (3) Research route in which the student does literature research, laboratory research, or a combination of the two.

Ch 111G General Chemistry I (4)

Fundamental principles of chemistry, including an introduction to atomics structure, chemical equilibrium, kinetics, electrochemistry, and organic chemistry. A course for science majors. Two laboratory hours per week. Prerequisite: a working knowledge of algebra
